Nazri Nasir, captain of the Singapore National Football Team, and wife Sharifah are today proud parents of a lovely baby girl.
The little tyke uttered her first cry this morning at 9.30 am, barely an hour after her mother was wheeled into the labour ward for induced birth.
Weighing 3.12 kg and measuring 51 cms, the baby is the fourth child of the ever growing Nazri family and the only girl in a family of three boys.
"We are overjoyed," said a radiant Sharifah in her suite at Raffles Hospital today. "We have been blessed with three wonderful boys but we were really looking forward to a girl," she said.
Beaming with pride, Nazri explains that while the boys are great fun to have around, a little girl will be the perfect companion for Sharifah when they go shopping or do girly things together.
Nazri is truly on a roll this year. Having his team bagged the championship for S-League and Singapore Cup Final 2004, he feels like a winner once again with the arrival of his long-awaited baby girl.
Sharifah is in the good hands of Dr Tan Yew Ghee, Consultant Gynaecologist and Head of Raffles Women's Centre.
Dr Tan has also looked after the wives and babies of other famous footballers such as Allistair Edwards, Jang Jung and Syed Mutalib.
